1. GROUP SESSIONS
Group session packages are paid per term and must be used within that term. If you miss a session, you may attend another available session within the same term as a make-up. Unused sessions cannot be carried over or refunded once the term has ended.
Club coaches conduct all group lessons and bouts only to ensure safety and program effectiveness.
2. PRIVATE LESSONS
All private lessons must be booked in advance. If you are unable to attend, please notify us at least one day prior. Late cancellations or no-shows will incur a charge, as the time has been reserved specifically for your lesson. If you miss a session, you may attend another available session within the same term as a make-up class, subject to availability. Unused sessions cannot be carried over, refunded, or credited after the term has ended.
Private lesson scheduling:
Due to high demand for coaches’ private lessons, the United Fencing Club team will do its best to accommodate fencers’ requested time slots. If no suitable time slot can be arranged, the package will be refunded to the fencer.
3. COMPETITION COACHING
During competitions, coaching priority will be given to junior fencers, who generally require more guidance and support. While UFC coaches support all members, if a junior and an adult fencer from the club compete against each other, coaching will be directed to the junior.
If only adult fencers are competing, coaching will be provided to adults. UFC members competing in the same age category will not receive coaching when fencing directly against each other. This ensures fairness and maintains the integrity of the bout for all athletes involved.
Junior: under 20 years old
Adult: 20 years and over
4. CLOTHING
All fencers must be dressed in fencing breeches and closed-toe athletic shoes. Breeches are mandatory for safety and proper movement on the piste. Athletic pants may be worn only as a temporary alternative for beginners; however, non-sport clothing such as jeans, casual pants, or slides is not permitted under any circumstances.
To protect our pistes and maintain a clean training environment, please bring a separate pair of indoor shoes to change into upon arrival. Street shoes are not allowed on the fencing strips.
5. PRIVATE LESSON CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING POLICY
Any request to cancel or change a private lesson must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
If a cancellation or time change is requested less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson, the lesson will be considered used. No refund will be provided, and the lesson credit will be deducted.
6. FACILITY ACCESS, EQUIPMENT STORAGE & FLOORING
Please note that the PCYC security fob is provided for United Fencing Club access only. It must not be used to access, or attempt to access, the PCYC gym facilities.
Fencers who choose to store their equipment at United Fencing Club do so at their own risk. The Club cannot guarantee the safety, security, or condition of any equipment left on the premises.
The flooring is owned by PCYC. Any damage caused to the flooring must be repaired or reimbursed by the fencer.
7. PRIVACY, PHOTOGRAPHY & PCYC COMPLIANCE
To comply with PCYC’s privacy policies and United Fencing Club’s youth protection and safeguarding requirements, the taking or recording of any photographs or videos during club activities is strictly prohibited unless prior consent has been formally obtained.
Any breach of these privacy or safeguarding requirements will be treated as serious misconduct and may result in disciplinary action in accordance with United Fencing Club’s safeguarding and disciplinary procedures.
All fencers and their families, including parents, guardians, spectators and other visitors attending United Fencing Club, are required to comply fully with all applicable PCYC rules, policies and venue requirements at all times.
